PURIFICATION OF THE MIND

BY CLEARING THE HEART

Purification of the Mind by Clearing the Heart is a continuation of the text about Changing Old Habits and Creating New, more refined ones.

There are many ways for a man to clear his heart and thus purify his mind. Unfortunately, there is not one single method that a person can put under his pillow in the evening and wake up in the morning new and refined, different and more satisfied, healthier and more blissful.

This text talks about one method out of many or how to turn inner noise into inner peace. Nothing is impossible, one only has to exercise persistently.

purification of the mind

„How wonderfully useful and good speak those who know how to keep silent!“
– Ivo Andrić

This is certainly one of the main habits of a real master. A real master knows that silence keeps all answers, for that reason he firstly observes then talks.

How many people you know who can firstly observes than talks?

So many masters you know.

Everyone Can Be Noble and a Master

It is all about purification of the mind. Mind hosts our habits, hence, it is all about purification of our habits.

Everyone can change his habits only if he wants to. There is no human on Earth who can’t do it. It only depends upon how much a potential master want to sacrifice his mind. There is no better drug than own mind. A medical drug will keep under control one part of the brain for some hours or months but it will destroy potentials of many other parts for ever and systematically.

A dog can’t keep human mind under peace either. One day a dog will die and the human mind will get out of mind, again.

But one thing every single man on Earth can do and that is to control himself. Self control is not about good practice to let others to take control over your mind but about your firm decision to change your own habits. It is all about habits of the mind. A mind is a very corruptive and lazy thing.

Silence is, for the beginning, a very good dope against laziness, Not easy at all. It is much harder not to talk than to talk all the time. People are even paying money to shut up. But you don’t have to pay money to be silent or to hide yourself in some cave. You can choose to be silent even then when it seems impossible to be silent. Other minds will spot your silence at once asking you what is wrong with you.

By your habit, you should say: “nothing”. And be silent.

Take the Risk of Silence

In the world of silence the inner speech is kept under control redirecting. You will redirect your thoughts and you will detach your need to talk unnecessarities being in a wrong company. Those who cannot understand your silence don’t understand themselves. They don’t love you either.

Change such company.

Silence fills heart with new and more creative energy. It will open new roads, it will show you new direction. But you have to use your willpower and start changing your own path.

When you manage to purify your inner life, the outside purity will be all well too. Habits to keep the things in wrong place and to call things wrong names will be your past. It is a joy of unity, whenever it happen.

But it is better to prove yourself. Just shut up and that’s all. If you did it already and if the same mess comes again out, try again.

Yogic Text on Purification of the Mind

Through entire nature, through you, your children, your family, your dog, through every form of life, through the air, through the lightness and darkness of the sky flow different energies. Yoga calls the subtle energies of the power of each nature and appearance gunas and it recognizes three kind of nature:

sattva (purity, lightness)

raja (action, passion) and

tamas (darkness, inertia).

Quality which flows through purified mind and heart is sattva.

That purification of the mind and heart is called Shauca.

Yoga Sutra 2.40-41:

„As the result of purity, there arises indifference toward the body and disgust for physical intercourse with others.
One achieves purification of the heart, cheerfulness of mind, the power of concentration, control of the passion and fitness for the realization of the Self.“
